Presented by Keith Money – the much-published British writer, artist, and photographer (who was born in Devonport, actually) – a selection of key photographs of Margot Fonteyn, Rudolf Nureyev, and other stars from the Royal Ballet during its glory days in the 1960s, plus two excerpts from his 1969 documentary film about Fonteyn. This will include rare colour footage of her in an extract from Gayaneh. Copies of Keith’s fourth Fonteyn book, Margot Assoluta, can also be purchased for signing at this session.

Tempo° 09 is delighted to bring the Duets showcase back to the TAPAC stage for another season of dancing ‘cheek to cheek’. The Royal New Zealand Ballet presents two stunning works – Concerto, choreographed by Sir Kenneth McMillan, and Through to You, by choreographer Andrew Simmons featuring music by Arvo Part. Duets also features salsa experts Vivio & Greydis, TMC Dance Crew, Dancing With the Stars Jonny Williams & Kristy Boyd and many more. Duets celebrates partner dancing and duets by beautifully, humorously and dramatically exploring the space and relationship between two bodies through pas de deux, salsa, ballroom, tap, hip hop, flamenco, contemporary dance and more.

At the age of 40, the world was waiting for Prima Ballerina Margot Fonteyn to retire. But the arrival of Rudolf Nureyev inspired the ‘steel ballerina’ to perform for another 20 years, creating one of the most electric stage partnerships of all time. Inspired by this story, actor Mel Dodge, dancer Pagan Dorgan and director Jacqueline Coats join together to create this dynamic piece exploring expiry dates, the magic of performing and the private and public face of a dancer.
