World of Cultures Festival 2023
TAPAC is keen to celebrate World of Cultures Festival 2023 by running a series of classes that introduce the community to the performing arts of different cultures. If you're keen to run a one-off class at TAPAC, please get in touch with us at [email protected]. We're offering free studio hire and we'll help you promote your class as part of our World of Cultures workshop series.
World of Cultures is a multicultural festival that aims celebrate the vibrancy of all cultures in Tāmaki Makaurau.
The festival falls across Race Relations Day and provides opportunities to reflect on what binds us, makes us different and to take a stand against racism.
The festival dates will be Tuesday 21 March to Monday 10 April 2023.
Auckland Council are asking creatives, groups and organisations to consider getting involved in the delivery of the 2023 festival. It could be to deliberately address racial discrimination, an event that brings multiple cultures together, or an activity that celebrates your unique community. You decide how to share the stories and cultural expressions of your culture, your way. You can also view the list of 2022* events online at www.worldofcultures.co.nz for inspiration.
From September to 14 November Auckland Council will call for Expressions of Interest, this is when you provide details of your event to be included in the festival programme. You can Like the Facebook page to be kept up to date.
